Trip to the Big Island, January 2004 - Part 1

On the way there, Deb and i stopped in the Bay Area for a visit with Jim and Ruthie.  We got to tour the Scharffen Berger chocolate factory, yum.

We also went over the hill to visit a Wildlife Museum that was having an exhibit of Robert Lang's creature origami.

Once we got to Hawai'i, we stayed in a lovely little cabin in Ahualoa near my house, surrounded by pasture with very friendly horses.  It was a year later we learned that Deb is profoundly allergic to horses..

I took Deb to many of the lovely places that one takes a first-time visitor to the island...
